How did you arrive at FBC?
Prior to coming to FBC I served as Executive Pastor at Yorktown Baptist Church in Corpus Christi for seven years. Before serving in this capacity I was in hospital administration for 15 years.
Tell us about your family.
I met and married Donna Yaw in Baytown Texas and we have been married for 36 years. We have two adult children, both married, and three grandsons.
Other than the Bible, what’s your favorite book?
My favorite author is Max Lucado, and I enjoy all that he has written. Overall my favorite book is From Shadow to Substance by Roy Hession.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
My favorite vacation spot is anywhere that there is a stream where I can fly fish and enjoy the outdoors.
What do you do for fun?
Fly fishing, walking, enjoying my grandsons and watching Texas A&M sports.
What is the best thing about FBC?
The very best thing about FBC is the people and their passion for the church and missions.
What’s the best thing about what you do?
My strengths are in the area of organization and problem solving. Every day allows me to walk in those strengths and help the church to be all she was meant to be as the bride of Christ.
What would you say to someone to encourage them in their spiritual journey?
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them”. You are magnificently designed and because He designed you for the purpose of walking in the works He established, discover those good works and walk in them confidently.
